Tissue Recovery Surgical Technician

Job Summary

Conduct preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative duties for tissue recovery cases, including preparing and inspecting supplies, managing sterile fields, and documenting donor records. Anticipate team needs to maintain surgical process progression, perform aseptic packaging of recovered tissues, and lead labeling verification. Break down sterile fields, clean and decontaminate equipment, and restore the recovery environment after procedures. Ensure accurate completion of donor records and release within established timeframes while monitoring departmental KPIs. Participate in LEAN projects, audit readiness activities, and training sessions. Requires ability to sit, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs for full shifts with 60%+ travel.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid State Driver's License and meets LifeNet Health's minimum driving requirements for company related driving
  • 1 year of work experience
  • Must be able to meet all credentialling requirements of area hospitals and other recovery facilities
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment to include surgical gowns, masks, visors or goggles, and caps
  • Must be available for shift work and On-Call
  • Must be available for Holidays & Weekends
  • Must be available for Overtime
  • Travel 60% or more
  • Ability to be collaborative and work as part of a team to resolve issues, complete tasks and meet business needs
  • Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure high degree of accuracy/completeness and early/on-time delivery
  • Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload
  • Able to follow LifeNet Health and client procedures and industry regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships with all professionals at different levels within the organization
  • Ability to motivate self in completing assigned tasks and proactively seek out opportunities for self and organizational improvement
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others

Desired Qualifications

  • Enhanced Identification - Valid State Enhanced (or "Real ID") Driver's License and/or a current passport
  • Certified LEAN White Belt: Certification offered by LifeNet Health or an external accredited entity
  • 1 year of work experience as Operating Room Tech, Scrub/Surgical Tech, EMT or Paramedic, Mortician or Embalmer, Pathology Assistant
