Job Summary
Conduct physical assessments of donors, obtain blood samples, and review medical records to verify authorization and suitability. Aseptically excise musculoskeletal, dermis, and placental tissue, prepare recovery sites, and maintain sterile environments using proper gowning and gloving techniques. Package recovered tissue according to protocols and coordinate donor receipt and release at the Ann Arbor facility. Maintain stock and cleanliness of recovery suites and prep rooms while adhering to FDA Good Tissue Practices and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in biological sciences
- Emergency medical technician (EMT) certification
- Paramedic certification
- Six months' experience as an allied health professional
- Six months' experience as a funeral assistant
- Six months' experience as a medicolegal death investigator
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Written and verbal fluency in English
- Ability to exercise initiative
- Critical thinking
- Problem-solving
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Teams
- Other technology systems used in business operations
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge and application of sterile technique
- Knowledge with or demonstrated ability to learn aseptic technique
- Knowledge with or demonstrated ability to learn surgical instrumentation
- Knowledge with or demonstrated ability to learn gross anatomy

- Ability to multi-task in challenging and stressful situations
- Maintain appropriate level of confidentiality in all areas dealing with sensitive, protected, and confidential information
