Job Summary
Conduct surgical dissection of vascular and cardiovascular allograft tissue by removing tissue from the fat pad, ligating tributaries with silk sutures, securing weak areas with prolene sutures, and attaching vessel cannulas. Evaluate processed tissue against company specifications to determine transplantability while maintaining strict aseptic technique and adhering to FDA 21 CFR Part 1271 Good Tissue Practices. Requires patience for a training period lasting several months to a year, flexibility to cover on-call hours including weekends and holidays, and a background in human anatomy or cadaver dissection. Possess fine motor skills and the ability to adapt to new technical tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Human anatomy background
- High school diploma
- Computer skills and knowledge
- Medical knowledge
- Possesses or willing to get HbV vaccination
- Willing to work weekend's
- Must adhere to Good Tissue Practices established by 21 CFR Part 1271 FDA, AATB current standards as well as company procedures and policies
- Maintains the highest levels of aseptic technique as per company procedures
- Ability to adapt and learn several new tasks
- Fine motor skills
- Team Player
- Patience with training process (could last several months to a year)
- Understands and accepts the need to take responsibility for upholding standards created to respect deceased human tissue donation, provide a quality product the will be used for implantation for vascular reconstruction surgeries and maintain regulatory compliance
Desired Qualifications
- Human anatomy background stemming from operating room, human tissue recovery, surgical assistant and or cadaver dissection
- Operating Room experience
- Tissue Recovery
- Aseptic Processing
- First or Second surgical assitant
- Flexible, dynamic, collaborative and positive ambiguity
- Proven track record of being one with integrity that follows standard operational procedures
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy and physiology
- Cadaver dissection experience
