Job Summary
Handle incoming donor referral calls from hospital staff to evaluate medical information regarding potential tissue donor suitability. Work empathetically with potential donor families to advocate for donation, conduct history questionnaires, and obtain informed consent. Coordinate logistics of tissue recoveries with internal and external partners while following best practices and providing exemplary customer service to hospital staff, funeral homes, and medical examiners. This role supports the mission to save and heal lives through organ and tissue donation across New England.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- One year of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent telephone communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, clinical databases, and Electronic Medical Records
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
- Must be flexible and proactive
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work both remotely from a home office setting and onsite in Waltham, MA
- Must be vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Certification
- License
- 3+ years of relevant experience in medical field, health sciences, mental health or counseling
- Expertise in crisis intervention and/or grief counseling
