Job Summary
Develop and maintain tire and vehicle modeling tools to support performance development initiatives, creating and validating models for vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, powertrain, and tire behavior for DIL and simulation platforms. Lead the development, calibration, and validation of advanced tire models through simulation, real-world data analysis, and rig testing while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and external partners. Plan and execute tire rig tests, vehicle tests, and Driver-In-Loop simulator activities, delivering clear analysis and actionable insights to optimize holistic vehicle performance. Utilize modern software practices in C++ and Dymola to enable efficient chassis and tire performance data analysis, ensuring strong correlation between simulation outputs and on-track results. Communicate project status and findings through technical reports and presentations to support advanced vehicle development programs within a premier motorsports organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience in vehicle dynamics simulation
- Proven experience in data analysis
- Proven experience in controls development
- Experience within a pinnacle-level professional motorsports environment
- Demonstrated expertise in racing vehicle data analysis
- Demonstrated expertise in simulation software validation
- Demonstrated expertise in tire and chassis systems
- Demonstrated expertise in limit-handling vehicle dynamics
- Proficiency in MATLAB
