Job Summary
Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires and wheel assemblies on military vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment. Conduct thorough inspections of tires, wheels, rims, and suspension systems to identify wear, damage, and defects affecting mission readiness. Perform minor repairs on brakes, steering, and related components while servicing fuel systems and performing preventative maintenance tasks. Utilize specialized equipment including hydraulic jacks, balancing machines, and torque tools to safely execute maintenance activities. Maintain accurate records, inventory parts, and ensure shop safety by adhering to OSHA and Air Force regulations. Work full-time, Monday through Friday, at Warner Robins Air Force Base.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 0-3 years experience performing tire repair, tire mounting and balancing, vehicle maintenance, or related mechanical work
- A valid state driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance
- Access to a federal military installation
- REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances
- Installation access
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time
- Ability to climb in and out of a vehicle
- Ability to go up and down stairs
- Perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time
