Job Summary

Install and inspect tires and rims on class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, trailers, and converter dollies. Remove and install tire assemblies using hydraulic jacks, operate specialized tire machines for mounting and dismounting, and repair tires outside the facility with a service truck. Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation, then dispose of old tires in compliance with environmental regulations. Maintain, inspect, and repair equipment while standing, walking, and lifting parts up to 100 pounds. Requires high school diploma, English proficiency, and ability to climb on, under, and around large trucks safely.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools
  • Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying of tools, parts, and equipment up to 100 pounds
  • Regular use of hands and arms for handling tools, reaching overhead, and working in tight spaces
  • Ability to climb on, under, and around large trucks and equipment safely
  • Adequate vision (with or without correction) to read gauges, manuals, and perform detailed inspections
  • Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to detect equipment sounds, communicate, and follow safety signals

Desired Qualifications

  • 2 years of tire mechanic experience
  • Proficiency in diagnostic software
