Job Summary
Cut tiles and shape them properly to fit around obstacles and tight corners using power and hand tools. Form tile beds with concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, or mortar using screeds, brushes, and trowels. Align tiles with straightedges, levels, and squares to ensure even patterns. Prepare surfaces with waterproofing or lath while cleaning properly. Create decorative wall and floor designs. Cut, install, polish, and surface granite and marble to ensure accuracy for lasting results. Work independently or as part of a team in a supportive professional environment with statutory employment benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Tile Layer/Tiler in the construction industry
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and layout plans
- Experience installing ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, and other tile finishes
- Skilled in using tile-cutting equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Physically fit and able to perform manual work in construction environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
- Good command of the English language
