Job Summary
Tile Department Manager responsible for achieving sales budgets and delivering an exceptional customer shopping experience. Drive customer service by teaching the P’s of retail (People, Product, Price, Purchasing, Position, Presentation, Promotion, Pro Services), engage customers, and ensure quality service through store associates. Strategically merchandise following company guidelines, maintain presentation standards, and ensure safety and loss prevention. Support the Chief Executive Merchant by modeling customer-focused operations, supervise staff, conduct weekly competitive shops, communicate pricing/inventory issues, analyze reports (P&L, CPR, BAT, STPOA, STPRC), manage inventory via POS systems, and uphold brand and operating standards. Manage scheduling, performance, training, and development of associates, handle HR or loss prevention issues, and ensure coverage to open/close the store. Requires 3–5 years of retail management, strong leadership, and the ability to operate in a high-volume environment. Required Qualifications
- Three to five years retail management experience
- Proven ability to recruit, hire, train associates
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in managing a fast-paced environment
- Ability to increase the company’s overall market share
- Demonstrated ability to manage in a high volume, complex location
- Available to open and/or close the store in an effective manner
