Job Summary
Set up TIG welding equipment and prepare materials, then perform welding on various metals according to blueprints and technical specifications. Comprehend drawings and process specifications to fabricate high-tolerance, complex parts while inspecting completed welds for structural integrity and finish quality. Monitor the welding process to maintain quality and safety standards, collaborate with the engineering team to develop manufacturing routings and tooling, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of welding equipment. Produce and verify work according to the production schedule, report output accurately, and follow Quality Management System protocols in a machine shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in a manual machine shop environment
- Strong knowledge of TIG welding techniques and experience working with various metals
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Commitment to safety and quality in welding practices
- Pre-test required
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift materials or components (up to 50+ lbs)
- Overtime and working weekends may be required with short notice
