Job Summary
Operate MIG and TIG welding machines to lay out, align, and weld fabricated steel components to assemble structural forms. Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to determine materials and sequence of operations; use cutting, bending, and forming machines to cut, bend, and shape steel. Follow established jobsite safety regulations, maintain a safe/work area, identify hazards, and perform necessary corrective actions. Perform quality checks to avoid overheating and ensure weld integrity; demonstrate proficiency with TIG and MIG welding and related processes; work on shop and job-site settings, potentially night shifts and overtime; bring personal welding tools; pass a welding test and comply with drug screening.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate
- Welding experience (minimum ~9 months)
- Must pass welding test
- Must have own tools
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Ability to work night shift when needed
- Familiar with MIG and TIG welding processes
- OSHA familiarity or compliance
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
- Must be a team player
