Job Summary
Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using measuring instruments. Observe tests on welded surfaces, including hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance checks. Develop templates or tooling to hold and align parts while determining required equipment and welding methods. Weld metal components using MIG, TIG, hand laser, gas tungsten arc, and other welding techniques. Inspect finished products and spare parts against samples to ensure specifications are met. Read blueprints, perform measurements, and fit and assemble parts while maintaining accuracy and following safety procedures. Work the 2nd shift from 3:30pm to 2am, Monday through Thursday, in a contract manufacturing environment serving medical, aerospace, and defense markets.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld
- Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements
- 3:30pm to 2am - Monday - Thursday (10-hours shift)
