Job Summary
Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices, responding to and resolving incidents while demonstrating troubleshooting skills. Draft and implement standard network change requests, perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Foundry OS, and coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. Provide support to Tier III engineers for incident management, site surveys, and equipment installation, ensuring accurate asset management records and topology drawings. Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements and maintain compliance with DoD 8140 IAT Level 2. Requires an active TS/SCI with poly, 10 years of experience, and up to 20% travel; available for flexible hours including weekend support.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with poly
- Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
- Available to travel up to 20% of the time
- Available to work flexible hours, to include weekend support
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
- Hands on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper networks, routers, switches
- Hands on experience configuring/troubleshooting switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs
- Experience with MLPS
- Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process
- Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP)
- Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs)
- Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE)
- 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education
