Job Summary
Manage thumbnail strategy by ideating briefs, providing feedback to designers, and utilizing AI tools like Weavy and Claude to ensure publish-ready assets. Analyze YouTube metrics to identify underperforming content, then repackage older videos with strategic mockups incorporating current trends to improve revenue. Collaborate with production and analytics teams across Live Action, Minecraft, and Roblox channels to align packaging with video performance. Contribute to weekly ideation meetings and lead channel strategy sessions while researching pop culture and competitor trends. Prepare research and ideas for clear presentation to supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience
- Preparing thumbnails or switching designs over weekends if necessary
- Ability to meet and understand deadlines
- Ability to comprehend feedback and implement it
- Experience and willingness to use and implement AI tools (Claude Code, Gemini, etc)
- 1-2+ years experience in Adobe Photoshop
- Deep understanding of composition, colour theory, lighting, and text integration for YouTube thumbnails
- Ability to design with algorithm and audience behaviour in mind, not just aesthetics
- Historical knowledge of Film and TV, YouTube, Social Media, Pop Culture and Traditional Media
- Basic understanding of Minecraft, Roblox and Live Action YouTube content
- Frequently consuming content of all types
- Able to ideate both within parameters and blue-sky
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with top-tier creators or large YouTube networks
- Experience in packaging strategy, ideation
