Job Summary
Thrift Store Manager will oversee all aspects of daily operations, drive sales growth, and lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring a welcoming shopping experience, efficient store operations, fostering donor relationships, and financial sustainability. Key duties include operations management (opening/closing, inventory, SOP adherence), sales and revenue generation (merchandising, promotions, online integration), team leadership (recruitment, training, scheduling), donation handling, financial oversight (cash handling, basic bookkeeping, budgeting), customer service excellence, marketing/community engagement, and compliance/reporting with legal requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail management experience, preferably in thrift, resale, or nonprofit environments
- Proven track record in sales growth, inventory management, and team leadership
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and basic financial reporting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods; flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license (for potential errand-running or donation pickups)
- Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or related field (preferred)
