Job Summary
Threat Detection and Response leadership role (AVP/SOC Manager) within MUFG's cybersecurity operations. The role focuses on examining systems and networks for threats, conducting forensic investigations, coordinating incident response, improving vulnerability management, building and running threat intelligence and risk assessments, and mentoring junior analysts. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in IT/security or related discipline, preferred CISSP/GSEC/GCFA-like certifications, and extensive experience across security domains and incident response in a financial services context. The position emphasizes governance, reporting, and collaboration across a global matrix organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science or related discipline
- Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable
- Experience in Information Security or other Information Technology fields
- Experience working in global, complex, matrix-managed organizations
- Experience in threat and vulnerability management
- Experience in vulnerability management
- Experience working within the Financial Services Industry preferred
- Experience creating trending, metrics, and management reports
- Technical concentrations: Network-Based Security Controls, Anomaly Detection and Investigation, Host and Network Forensics, Operating Systems, Web Applications and Traffic
- Experience with EnCase, FTK, SIFT, Splunk, Redline, Volatility, Wireshark, tcpdump
- Experience responding to cyber events in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST 800 series, FFIEC, SOC2, FedRAMP, STAR)
- Leadership: mentor, train, and provide feedback to analysts
- Experience in incident response lifecycle and forensic investigations
- Security governance and oversight, security risk management, network security, threat and vulnerability management, incident response and forensics
