Job Summary
Direct the Lung Cancer Program at Northside Hospital Cancer Institute by developing strategies to ensure excellent cancer care and optimal treatment outcomes. Lead research projects in thoracic cancers and actively participate in multidisciplinary clinical activities focusing on lung, esophageal, and other respiratory system cancers. Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and administrators to maintain a culture of patient-centeredness while promoting the institute's multidisciplinary approach as a regional leader in innovation. Requires board certification in thoracic surgery, fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery or thoracic surgical oncology, and proficiency in minimally invasive techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Board-certified thoracic surgeon
- Fellowship trained in cardiothoracic surgery or thoracic surgical oncology
- Minimally invasive thoracic surgery proficiency
- Medical Degree from an accredited college or university
- BC/BE in Thoracic Surgery
- Active GA medical license
Desired Qualifications
- 5-8 years clinical experience
- Proven track record of successful leadership in a progressive academic medical center or community hospital
- Experience and commitment to cancer research and clinical trials
