Job Summary
Protect state property by performing third-shift security duties at the State Capitol and surrounding buildings. Responsibilities include vehicle and foot patrols, monitoring security cameras, controlling after-hours building access, responding to emergencies and alarms, and providing assistance to state employees and the public. Compile incident reports/logs, follow state security policies, and maintain calm, professional interaction with diverse individuals while adhering to safety and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- No specific education, training, or experience required
- One year of security experience (preferred)
- Microsoft Office (preferred)
- First aid and CPR certification or must obtain within first six months
- U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services employment eligibility requirements (EOI/I-9)
- Driver's license and completion of approved defensive driving class
- Ability to walk ~5 miles per shift and climb stairs
- Background screening including fingerprint-based checks

- Must be able to pass extensive background screening and fingerprint check
- U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility required
