Job Summary
Oversee store operations and close-shift leadership in the absence of the Store Director and Assistant Store Director. Focus on total store operations, customer service, training and development of new employees, coordinating hiring needs and interviewing candidates, and assisting with merchandising execution. Direct late-shift activities, ensure daily operational needs are met, and supervise staff to maintain store standards. Collaborate with the ASD on daily operations, prepare to step in for vacancies, and contribute to planning and executing merchandising plans, stock management, and safety culture. Provide guidance on customer relations, suggestive selling, and adherence to company policies, while supporting training for potential promotion to Store Director roles. Ensure onboarding and mandatory trainings for new hires and promoted employees, and coordinate with leadership to meet hiring needs and post positions as required. The position emphasizes strong customer service, supervisory capabilities, and a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Four or more years retail experience
- Retail grocery experience preferred
- Proficient customer service and supervisory skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Leadership ability and initiative
- Ability to work flexible hours (am/pm shifts)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of basic math and weights and measures
- Experience in ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, merchandising
