Job Summary
Oversee total store operations in the absence of Store Director and Assistant Store Director, with primary focus on closing shifts. Lead and supervise staff, train new employees, participate in hiring and interviewing processes, assist with merchandising execution, and coordinate with late-shift teams to ensure smooth daily operations. Drive customer service excellence, employ suggestive selling and other sales techniques, and support development of store policies and safety culture. Manage orders, pricing, stocking, and display planning; build marketing/merchandising plans in collaboration with team leads; train potential promotable staff; ensure onboarding and training compliance for new hires and promotions. Requires strong communication, initiative, and teamwork, with the ability to work flexible hours and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment. Location: Mill Valley, CA; travel not required.
Required Qualifications
- Education Level: High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Experience Level: Four or more years retail experience
- Retail grocery experience preferred
- Proficient customer service and supervisory skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Ability to work flexible hours (am/pm shifts)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to be friendly, courteous, tactful, and maintain composure with customers and co-workers
- Analytical ability for administrative details such as planning, reporting, scheduling, and supervising
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
