Job Summary
Oversee total store operations during the Store Director and Assistant Store Director's absence, managing closing shifts, supervising all employees, and handling customer complaints. Coordinate with late shift employees to direct day-to-day activities, including assessing operational needs and administering training. Execute merchandising duties such as ordering, receiving, stocking, and pricing while building marketing plans to improve product placement and sales. Assess hiring needs by scheduling interviews and onboarding new hires, ensuring all mandatory training and paperwork are completed. Maintain safety culture standards and support store metrics to drive overall success.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Four or more years retail experience required
- Proficient customer service and supervisory skills
- Strong understanding of overall store operations
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Ability to get along with others
- High degree of initiative and sense of urgency
- Available to work flexible hours (am/pm shifts)
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Ability to be friendly, courteous, tactful, and maintain composure in dealing with customers and co-workers
- Analytical ability to handle administrative details such as planning, reporting, meeting operational objectives, scheduling, and supervising
- Ability to judge and react to business activity
- Knowledge of basic math and weights and measures
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 55 lbs
- Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks
- Must sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Workday is fast paced; holiday, evening and weekend work may be required
