Job Summary
Complete placement testing with a minimum mechanical aptitude score of 70 and achieve a 2.0 GPA in general education and Caterpillar classes at San Joaquin Delta College. Alternate nine weeks between college and dealership rotations for the first two years while successfully finishing required e-learning and job assignments directed by a mentor. Maintain a professional appearance, uphold Quinn Company values of teamwork and integrity, and demonstrate problem-solving skills in group settings. Upon graduation, work full-time as a ThinkBIG Apprentice for two years to attain a Journey Level certificate. This four-year program combines technical education with paid on-the-job training to prepare students for careers in agricultural, construction, and earthmoving equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- High school seniors getting ready to graduate from high school
- Minimum three letters of recommendation
- Mechanical aptitude test
- Completion of ThinkBIG interview
- Alternate 9 weeks at Delta College with 9 weeks at the Dealership during the first two years of the program
- Complete all required general education and Caterpillar classes at San Joaquin Delta College with at least a 2.0 GPA ("C" Average) in each class
- Complete all required e-learning
- Successfully complete job assignments as directed by the mentor at each dealership
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude throughout the program and after completion of the program
- Demonstrate Quinn Company Values of Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Quality, and Service
- Work full time as an Think BIG Apprentice for two years to attain Journey Level certificate
