Job Summary
Develop thermal-systems requirements and perform analyses to create and optimize thermal-control designs for challenging spacecraft problems. Document analyses and designs, review and approve drawings for thermal-design hardware content, and report results to internal management and external customers. Partner with test engineering to plan and execute subsystem-level thermal tests, provide feedback on cost and schedule impacts, and work independently with minimal oversight. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and mentor junior engineers on best practices. Requires a Bachelor's degree in STEM with 12 years of experience or equivalent higher education with reduced years, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance. Salary range $169,000.00 - $253,600.00.

- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 12 years of experience, a master's degree with 10 years of experience or a PhD with 8 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Thermal design and/or analysis experience for spacecraft or avionics subsystem and/or payloads
- Demonstrated expertise in thermal testing, thermal requirements derivation and verification, and advanced thermal materials
- Design, analysis, and integration experience of spacecraft, airborne, or comparable subsystems
- Experience using thermal analysis and standard design tools (Icepak, Thermal Desktop, NX)
Desired Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security Clearance
- Experience with classified satellite and/or payload programs or large-scale space sensor development
- Demonstrated proficiency with direct customer interaction
- Detail-oriented and have excellent verbal and written communications skills, leadership skills, and organization skills
- Space Vehicle and/or Payload background with experience through the entire system lifecycle from concept, design, production, integration, test, launch, to operation support
