Job Summary
Thermal-fluids Analyst I / II at Antares is responsible for building and running thermal-fluids models of components and subsystems throughout the reactor core and power conversion system to ensure designs meet thermal, mechanical, operational, and performance requirements in extreme environments. Role involves collaborating with designers for initial sizing and material selection, documenting analytical results and communicating assumptions/limitations, supporting test campaigns and instrumentation decisions, developing internal tools for rapid assessments, and providing technical mentorship across teams. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and experience with CFD tools (Fluent, CFX, Star-CCM+), CAD (Siemens NX), and scripting (Python, MATLAB, VBA). Preferred qualifications include a Master’s in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, 3+ years in thermal-fluids analysis, familiarity with 1-D fluid network tools, safety-critical regulatory programs, numerical methods for fluid dynamics/thermodynamics, multiphase heat transport experience, ASME BPVC knowledge, and FEA experience. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar technical discipline
- Experience building and running CFD models using Fluent, CFX, Star-CCM+ with conjugate heat transfer and compressible equations
- Experience CAD software for design modification and model defeaturing (Siemens NX or similar)
- Experience in Python, MatLab, VBA, or other scripting language to build and maintain tools and calculators
