Job Summary
The Thermal Field Service Technician will perform startup, commissioning, and scheduled or emergency service on data center cooling systems, supporting products within the Thermal product family. This entry-level role includes preventative maintenance tasks (taking unit readings, temperatures, voltages, pressures, controller diagnostics, coil cleaning, filter changes, fluid sampling/remediation) and requires earning an EPA608 license within 6 months. Training and Vertiv Certification progression accompany on-the-job development, with emphasis on customer rapport and collaboration with coworkers, sales reps, and other stakeholders. Travel and on-site work are expected, with physical duties including lifting up to 50-75 pounds, working at heights, and exposure to varying conditions; compliance with protective equipment and safety protocols is required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with Mechanical and Electrical systems.
- Experience working with hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with electrical / electronic test equipment and fundamentals
- Technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills and understanding computer logic
- HVAC basic understanding preferred, but not required
- Elementary fix/repair techniques based on directed supervision
- Understanding of Psychrometrics
- Strong mathematical capabilities
- Ability to work on ladders or work comfortably at heights and on roofs
- Have an EPA608 license or take the EPA 608 license exam and pass the test within 6 months of being hired.
