Job Summary
Thermal Customer Engineer responsible for maintaining data-centre cooling systems in the Southeast England region. Key duties include regular maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical cooling equipment (air conditioning units, chillers, pumps), reading schematics and system diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs, and providing technical guidance within a field-delivery team. Role requires NVQ Level 2+ in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent, proven mechanical cooling experience, strong technical drawing/layout knowledge, and a safety-first mindset. Role supported by product training and Field Delivery Manager oversight; involves field service across customer data-centre facilities with a mobile work location. Benefits include a company car and pension. This position is based in Bedford/Mobile South-East England with on-site/off-site field duties.
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or higher in Refrigeration and Air conditioning, or similar relevant qualification
- Proven experience in mechanical cooling engineering with a focus on air conditioning and/or data centre cooling solutions
- Strong knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and system layouts related to cooling infrastructure
- Proficiency in equipment repair, troubleshooting complex mechanical and control issues efficiently
- A commitment to consistently meet or exceed Vertiv policies requirements and standards and always perform with a safety-first mindset
