Job Summary
Provide specific physical therapy treatments and assist with patient restoration under direct supervision of the Staff Physical Therapist. Maintain patient medical records, distribute educational materials, and manage invoicing and claims billing. Transport patients to appointments while adhering to safety policies, and prepare and clean treatment areas. Order, stock, and maintain accurate records of adaptive equipment while operating machines safely. Communicate condition changes to staff and collaborate with other departments on performance improvement. Ensure licensed review and countersigning of all documentation. Requires BLS certification, basic computer knowledge, and ability to lift up to 500 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED certificate
- Satisfactory completion of Physical Therapy Aide Competency Evaluation and job training
- Current BLS certification
- Able to communicate effective in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer knowledge
- Basic awareness of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology
- Basic knowledge of physical therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same
- Position requires the ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
- May be required to assist with patients or equipment up to 500 pounds
- The individual will be required to stand for long periods, push, pull, lift, bend, kneel, twist, and reach above shoulder level
- Requires vision and hearing skills corrected to near normal range
Desired Qualifications
- One-year experience Physical Therapy Aide preferred
- Additional languages a plus
