Job Summary
Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation services while ensuring departmental compliance with federal, state, and professional standards. Review policies annually, consult with therapists and the Regional Rehabilitation Director on resident matters, and maintain a productive relationship with all staff. Complete therapy screens, upload documentation, perform departmental audits, and ensure equipment is in good working condition. Monitor personnel for safety regulation adherence, maintain clean and sanitary work areas, and enforce infection control procedures during isolation. Review daily Regional Director communications and implement necessary changes. Participate in required facility and Regional meetings when the Director is absent.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must possess thorough knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing requirements
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must be knowledgeable of regulations governing rehabilitation services in nursing care facilities
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing rehabilitation services
- Must be able to communicate information concerning a resident's condition
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the Facility, which may include a medical and physical examination
- This job may require the lifting of residents, equipment, or other objects
- This job may require a minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
