Job Summary
Engage children in activities to reinforce therapeutic goals, including facilitating movement, communication, and fine motor tasks during play and routine. Lead and participate in classroom activities such as Circle Time, small group work, arts and crafts, and independent play. Assist with feeding and mealtime routines while modeling positive behaviors to support emotional regulation and social interactions. Regularly stock, organize, and rotate materials and therapeutic equipment, monitor inventory, and prepare orders for supplies. Perform minor cleaning and tidying throughout the day to maintain a safe, organized, and hygienic learning environment. Work Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm, reporting to the Director of Speech Therapy under the guidance of the classroom teacher and clinical team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an early childhood education setting (e.g. preschool, daycare, Head Start).
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, transfer, and reposition patients safely.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, pull, carry, bend, and crouch.
- Fluency in English.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with special needs children or in a pediatric clinical therapy setting is preferred.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities in another language is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience effectively collaborating and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
