Job Summary
Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions using empirically supported techniques like CBT, DBT, or family therapy to aid patient stabilization and recovery. Assess patients' needs through comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide counseling to manage symptoms and improve well-being. Educate patients on mental health conditions, self-care strategies, and treatment options while documenting all progress and interventions within required timeframes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including psychiatrists and social workers to coordinate care, report suspected abuse, and ensure compliance with Joint Commission and state regulations. Participate in clinical initiatives, committees, and continuous improvement projects to support system-wide goals.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, or related field, from an accredited school of Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy
- experience in health care
- experience in a psychiatric setting
- in-training as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-IT)
- Marriage and Family Therapist Training License (MFT-TL)
- Advance Practice Social Work (APSW)
- equivalent in state practicing
- SAC-IT
- SAC
- CSAC
- substance use specialty authorization applicable to the state hired in
- Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups
- dynamics of human growth and behavior
- current and active driver's license
- good standing
- American Heart Association CPR certification
- Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI)
- Joint Commission, State, and other regulatory agency compliance regulations
- patient safety
- safety of the facility
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, or related field, from an accredited school of Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy with experience in health care and in a psychiatric setting, preferred
- Residential Care Center (RCC) and Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) training
- Residential Inpatient programs experience
- all levels of care experience
