Job Summary

Conduct individual, group, and family psychotherapy while providing crisis intervention and psychoeducation to clients in school, home, and community settings. Interview families to obtain treatment histories, assess functioning in environmental contexts, and establish comprehensive treatment plans. Submit clinical documentation within 24 hours using the electronic health record system and participate in multidisciplinary treatment review meetings. Provide consultation services to community agencies and may mentor student affiliate programs. This field-based role requires 50% driving with a personal vehicle for travel between sites.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master's degree from an accredited school of social work or psychology program, including supervised field work experience in child/adolescent mental health
  • Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an ASW or RA MFT
  • MSW student internship or psychology student trainee experience in a recognized social service agency, clinic, hospital or public health agency
  • One year must have been in a mental health setting such as a hospital, clinic, or day treatment center
  • One additional year of the required experience will be accepted for the supervised fieldwork
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Must be able to constantly converse with staff and clients
  • Must be able to frequently operate a motor vehicle to travel to school or home site
  • Must be able to frequently position self in order to effectively interact with children of lesser stature
  • Must be able to occasionally transport materials (food, clothing, books, etc.) weighing up to 50 pounds for therapeutic activities
  • Must be able to frequently use motor vehicle for business purposes
  • This is a field-based position and requires 50% driving
  • Will require a personal motor vehicle to frequently travel between offices, housing appointments, and community events
