Job Summary
Plan and provide direct/indirect therapy to students with mental, physical, or emotional disabilities. Assess students and provide therapeutic intervention to maximize physical or mental functioning, increase independent functioning, so students may benefit from their special educational program. Requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas occupational therapy license; 1 year of experience; school-based/pediatric experience preferred. Supervises Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA). Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Texas license as an occupational therapist by TBOTE
- One year experience as an occupational therapist
- Experience with pediatrics and/or school-based therapy (preferred)
- Knowledge of occupational therapy procedures for students with disabilities
