Job Summary
Therapist for the MIYA program providing individual and group therapy to transition-age youth (18-25) with serious emotional/behavioral disorders or serious mental illness, using evidence-based practices and assessment tools. Responsibilities include conducting initial and ongoing assessments, developing crisis/relapse prevention and treatment plans, delivering at least one face-to-face therapy session weekly, and participating in travel between the Great Pittsburgh area and main campus trainings. Requires Master’s in Counseling or related field, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances, reliable vehicle, and on-call availability; occasional evening/weekend work. The role supports the MIYA program’s goal of helping youth transition to independent living with community integration, while aligning with the agency’s mission and providing comprehensive behavioral health services in a nonprofit setting.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s in Counseling or related field
- Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances
- Ownership of a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance
- Must be available for 24/7 on-call for ~1 week every 6-8 weeks
- Proficient knowledge of effective treatment modalities and trauma-informed services
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends
