Job Summary
Therapist II providing specialized mental health and substance use services including Mental Health Assessment, Chemical Dependency/Dual Diagnosis assessments, and Behavioral Health Counseling. Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic/needs assessments, planning and evaluating services with clients and families, developing and monitoring Individual Service Plans (ISP), delivering individual and group therapies, providing in-home, community, or school-based services to youth with severe emotional disturbances, coordinating with other professionals, offering crisis intervention and safety planning, training direct care staff on behavior therapy plans, ensuring fidelity to program policies, and meeting organizational ethics and licensure requirements. Must hold a master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology and professional licensure (LSW/LPC or MFT); requires First Aid/CPR certification and ability to navigate community resources; ability to work flexible hours and collaborate across diverse backgrounds; maintain documentation and comply with license requirements and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology
- LSW/LPC or MFT license
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR
- Knowledge of community resources relevant to clients served
- Ability to form therapeutic relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Flexible schedule including evenings
- Cultural diversity awareness in service coordination
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License (if providing transportation) and ability to meet MVR requirements if transporting clients
- Autonomy in maintaining client confidentiality and completing required documentation
- Experience providing individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and service coordination
- Maintaining licensure and adhering to applicable professional standards
