Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Therapist under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager plans and provides direct mental health psychotherapy and co-occurring services for adults, children, families and groups. Emphasis is on an interdisciplinary team approach, recovery oriented and strength based methods in providing comprehensive care to clients and their families. Supervised hours of experience are provided by licensed supervisors to meet pre-licensing accrual hours. Provides individual, group and family psychotherapy; screens for treatment appropriateness; coordinates with Case Manager; maintains liaison with community resources; utilizes electronic health records; delivers public presentations; may work weekend shifts; requires CA Driver’s License; may be assigned to satellite clinic; requires Master’s degree and eligibility for ASW/AMFT registration or equivalent, and eventual licensure.”,
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major in Psychology, Marriage and Family Counseling, Social Work or related field
- Eligibility for registration with the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an ASW or AMFT
- Obtain California licensure within 6 years of initial issuance of BBS registration number
- OR within 90 days of hire obtain AMFT or ASW registration number with the State of California
- Completion of all Psychology doctoral coursework and completion of a Psychology Internship from APPIC program and obtain licensure within 6 years of BBS registration number
- Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista’s employee health/immunization requirements or provide exemption request
