Job Summary
Carry a caseload for the Functional Family Therapy - Adult program by providing weekly one-hour home-based, virtual, or office family therapy sessions. Complete formalized FFT-A assessments, refer families to appropriate services, and deliver life skills classes while maintaining all necessary records. Actively participate as part of the therapy team, provide supervision to assigned Case Managers, and collect information for program effectiveness. Attend all FFT-A training sessions and supplemental continuing education modules with fidelity. Schedule includes flexibility for weekend, evening, or non-traditional hours to accommodate family availability.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, mental health, or other relevant human service profession
- two (2) years of experience in children and family services
- Ability and willingness to work with families in their own homes
- Flexibility to work when the families are available to meet
- ability to work non-traditional and flexible work hours
- ability to work weekend, evening or other appointment times with families
- Ability to work independently
- Very good interpersonal/communication skills
- Strong clinical skills
- Ability to internalize and work within the FFT-A philosophy and model
- Ability to engage families who may not want the service
- Ability to adapt and individualize program interventions to utilize family strengths and skills
- Ability to establish a mutually respectful relationship, in which the family is a full partner, empowered to solve their own problems
- Ability to intervene decisively, when necessary, to protect family members
- Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits for best practice
- Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
- Have a demonstrated commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Expertise in working with young adults, 19 – 27 years of age preferred
