Job Summary

Provide rapid crisis intervention and assessment to individuals via face-to-face or telephone response, recognizing crisis elements and deescalating situations. Lead the Child/Adolescent Crisis Response Team by initiating services in the community or consumers' homes, determining response levels, and formulating treatment plans with families. Deliver individual, group, and family therapy while educating consumers on safety plans and de-escalation techniques. Collaborate with Access to Care, treatment teams, law enforcement, and court personnel to secure resources, ensure medication compliance, and arrange discharge planning. Document resolutions in the Avatar electronic health record and seek clinical supervision to enhance skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a mental health discipline
  • 2 or more years' experience working with psychiatric disorders or crisis situations
  • Knowledge of child/adolescent specialty
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in the child/adolescent population
  • Basic knowledge of the nature of addiction for referral purposes
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity
  • Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention and interventions common to acute psychotic consumers, as well as, to non-violent crisis intervention practice
  • Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation principles
  • Knowledge of educational methods appropriate to children/adolescents with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders
  • Knowledge of AltaPointe services and continuum of care
  • Knowledge of appropriate services codes and billing procedures
  • Knowledge of community resources
