Job Summary
Provide comprehensive therapeutic counseling to community members across all ages, including individual, family, couples, crisis, and group services. Complete assessments, treatment plans, and clinical documentation within 48 hours of service provision. Participate in clinical staff meetings, service planning, discharge planning, and clinical rounds as part of the client support team. Deliver field-based services, consultation, and outreach presentations to the public regarding clinical topics and Catholic Charities programs. Maintain licensure in good standing, adhere to safety protocols, and protect client confidentiality. Respond to emails, bill funding sources, and report incidents as required. Maintain a flexible schedule to meet client needs, including on-call rotation for emergencies and evening or weekend hours.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology, or other relevant behavioral science with clinical experience
- LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, AMFT, LMSW or LCSW
- 1 year experience providing counseling to victims of trauma or grief and loss
- Licensed to provide clinical services in the State of Texas
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or experience with Alcohol and Drug Treatment
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Must have clean driving record
- Valid vehicle insurance
- Submit to a state and federal background check and child abuse and neglect registry check
- Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities
- Experience working with individuals, families and/or communities who have experienced trauma
- Working knowledge of Trauma Responsive Care
- Ability to evaluate tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate program goals and expectations verbally and in writing
- Ability and willingness to work some evenings and/or weekend hours as needed
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
- Must have good written and verbal skills
- Must have good critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-care skills
- Must be willing to maintain flexible schedule to meet the needs of clients and possibly respond to on call rotation for emergencies
- Must complete all necessary professional development in a timely manner
- Must be sensitive to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory
- Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization
- Attendance and successful completion of a New Employee Orientation is mandated for the position
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Veterans/Active Military/Dependents and Surviving Spouse
- Ability to conduct therapy using the Spanish language
- Willing to work from a Faith Based Lens
- Experience with computer software and experience with an Electronic Health Record
