Job Summary
Conduct trauma-informed individual and group therapy, biopsychosocial assessments, and parent education counseling for shelter residents and their children. Collaborate with Case Management Specialists on psychological profiles, develop curriculum for life skills groups, and refer clients to external mental health agencies. Maintain thorough documentation of assessments and services, complete program evaluations for research reports, and serve as a liaison to community agencies. Provide 24-hour availability for suicide assessments during crises while driving safely to conduct duties. Maintain confidentiality and apply discretion in accordance with organizational principles.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively
- Ability to be available 24 hours a day to provide suicide assessments as requested from direct care staff when a client is in crisis
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and intense situations
- Ability to apply discretion and independent judgment and exercise confidentiality
- Ability to drive a vehicle safely
- Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related field
- Two years of appropriate clinically supervised, post-degree work experience in categories such as cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy and diagnostic assessment
- LMSW or LCSW, LPC, LMFT
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
