Job Summary
Engage youth in social, recreational, athletic, and artistic activities within homes and the community. Participate in provider team meetings to collaborate with families and support healthy functioning. Implement interventions to assist youth and caregivers, while providing coaching for decision-making in crisis and non-crisis situations. Conduct member outreach, provide referrals, and attend care planning, school, and hospital discharge meetings. Offer transportation as needed for service delivery and assist in coordinating treatment planning and intensive family therapy. Work Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday, with evening and weekend availability required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Bachelor's or associate's degree from an accredited institution
- counseling or related field
- one year minimum experience working with children/families and adolescents
- experience in child development
- experience in childhood mental illness
- experience in family issues
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and providers
- High energy level
- superior interpersonal skills
- ability to function in a team atmosphere
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- have access to an operational and insured vehicle
- be willing to use it to transport clients
- Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving diverse populations
- Candidate must be 21 years of age or older
- Evenings and at least one weekend day is a requirement
