Job Summary
Engage youth in social, recreational, athletic, and artistic activities within homes and the community. Participate in provider team meetings, collaborate with families and collateral providers, and implement interventions to support healthy functioning. Provide coaching for decision-making in crisis and non-crisis situations, conduct member outreach, and coordinate treatment planning and intensive family therapy. Offer transportation as needed for service delivery and attend care planning, school, and hospital discharge meetings. Provide referrals to appropriate supports and services. Work Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday, 10:00am–6:00pm, with availability at least two nights per week until 8 pm. Evening and weekend coverage is required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Bachelor's or associate's degree from an accredited institution
- counseling or related field
- one year minimum experience working with children/families and adolescents
- child development
- childhood mental illness
- family issues
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and providers
- High energy level
- superior interpersonal skills
- ability to function in a team atmosphere
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- have access to an operational and insured vehicle
- be willing to use it to transport clients
- Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving diverse populations
- Candidate must be 21 years of age or older
- Evenings and at least one weekend day
