Job Summary
Therapeutic Youth Mentor provides supportive, evidence-based mentoring to youth receiving mental health services. Responsibilities include building trusting relationships, modeling healthy coping strategies, assisting youth to achieve treatment plan goals, facilitating skill-building activities (communication, problem-solving, emotional regulation, daily living skills), accompanying youth to community settings, delivering crisis support and de-escalation per YBGR protocols, maintaining accurate EHR documentation, collaborating with therapists, families, and community partners, contributing to PQI initiatives, upholding agency policies and culture, and pursuing required certifications (First Aid/CPR, Violence Intervention Prevention). The role requires flexibility for evenings/weekends, travel to various locations, and a minimum High School level education; a valid driver's license is required. Must be able to observe and respond to youth behavior, maintain professional boundaries, and participate in supervision and ongoing training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Driver’s license to operate passenger vehicle
- Criminal/Child Abuse Clearance: must pass background check as required by the State of Montana
- Willingness to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention
