Job Summary
Provide individualized therapeutic behavioral support to students within a special education environment, building positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries. Help students identify and practice healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, problem-solving, communication, and social skills through targeted interventions based on individual treatment goals. Recognize behavioral triggers and respond using appropriate de-escalation techniques to promote safety and dignity. Collaborate with therapists, teachers, administrators, and families to reinforce strategies and assist students in developing independence. Maintain accurate documentation of services and participate in treatment planning and team meetings. Follow all agency and school policies, confidentiality requirements, and behavioral health standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Human Services, Sociology, Child Development, or a related behavioral health/human services field
- Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-employment and credentialing requirements, including applicable background checks and drug screening
- Must meet applicable requirements for the position and behavioral health services provided
- Reliable transportation
- The ability to travel as required for the position
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Human Services, Sociology, Child Development, or a related behavioral health/human services field preferred
- Relevant experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities, behavioral health populations, or within a special education setting is strongly preferred
- Experience with behavioral interventions, crisis prevention, de-escalation, case management, youth services, or school-based services is a plus
