Job Summary
Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and preparation for surgery while ensuring safe transfer and positioning of patients to and from the operating theatre. Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams, liaise with support offices, and manage stock control and ordering. Maintain correct bed allocations and assist in cleaning operating theatres. Complete relevant audits in collaboration with the clinical lead. This role requires experience in theatre operations, lifting techniques, and infection control principles. Monday to Friday flexible rostering with occasional Saturday shifts is available, and no overnights or on-call duties are required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a theatre orderly
- Knowledge and understanding of lifting, positioning and transferring techniques using available equipment
- Experience in supply / stock control management and ordering
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of infection control principles
- Ability to prioritise and coordinate work to meet patient and customer needs
- Recent criminal history check
- Immunisation
