Job Summary
Teach lessons aligned to California VAPA Content Standards in Theater, utilizing discipline-specific techniques in acting, stagecraft, and performance. Develop and support partnerships with community organizations, then collaborate with staff to plan performances, showcases, or exhibitions. Establish and maintain student behavior standards while instructing students in citizenship and communication skills. Report student progress to teachers and parents each trimester, and cooperate with professionals to assess and solve health, attitude, and learning problems. Maintain professional competence through district and self-selected service education activities. Perform basic attendance accounting, coordinate instructional assistants, and manage storage for costumes, props, and lighting equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 2+ years of practical/professional experience in area of theater concentration
- Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)
- Provide a clear TB test
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license and current auto insurance on file with HR (for employees who operate a personal or company vehicle for work purposes)
- Must be available for the entire shift schedule
