Job Summary
Teach CRJ Theatre courses to grades 10–12 students, directing annual productions and mentoring them in acting, stage management, design, lighting, and sound. Manage the black box theatre, maintain stage equipment, and collaborate with external organizations to enhance the student experience. Deliver engaging, culturally responsive instruction that fosters creativity, collaboration, and communication while providing one-on-one and small-group tutoring. Build strong partnerships with parents and uphold school-wide discipline routines to create an inclusive, vibrant learning environment. Prioritize planning, assessment, feedback, and reflection to accelerate student growth in college, career, and life readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Theatre Education, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field
- Teaching license in the primary teaching discipline, or progress toward licensure
- Record of strong student achievement as a middle school or high school teacher
- Proficiency with technology
Desired Qualifications
- Experience directing, producing, or managing theatrical productions
- Experience working with English Language Learners
- Proficiency in Spanish
