Job Summary
Theater Teacher at Goliad High School delivers theater/drama instruction aligned to district curriculum and state standards, develops lesson plans, differentiates instruction to meet diverse student needs, collaborates with special education and support staff for accommodations, assesses student progress to inform instruction, and supports student growth academically, emotionally, physically, and socially. Responsibilities include classroom management, maintaining records, facilitating extracurricular activities, participating in staff development, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Strong knowledge of subject area, instructional practices, and effective use of instructional technology is required; CPR/AED certification may be required for applicable Physical Education roles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or approved certification waiver
- Demonstrated competency in assigned subject area
- Physical Education teachers must maintain current CPR and AED certification if applicable
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related educational experience preferred.
