Job Summary
Mechanical Project Engineer to provide mechanical design support for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection in government and private-sector building projects. Use Revit and AutoCAD to produce design documentation, apply building codes to ensure compliant designs, verify decisions through research and technical analysis, and collaborate with Project Managers to maintain ownership and quality of the design work. This role emphasizes precision, defensible solutions, and complete documentation that others are measured against.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with HVAC system design for building projects
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of building codes and ability to apply them to design
- Ability to perform design calculations and produce technically accurate documentation
- Experience with plumbing and fire protection knowledge a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to produce complete, defendable designs
