Job Summary
Assess, prepare, and assist adult and geriatric patients with treatments and procedures in accordance with established clinical guidelines. Perform and supervise paraprofessionals for clinic-specific procedures, including surgical interventions, while operating specialized medical equipment such as IV pumps and cardiac monitors. Apply the nursing process to moderate-difficulty assignments, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to MTF and JC policies. Requires a valid LPN/LVN license, one year of acute care or inpatient rehab experience, and BLS certification. Work 12-hour shifts from 6:45am to 7:15pm, seven days a week, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma of LPN or LVN, from and accredited National League of Nursing (NLN) approved program
- Valid, unrestricted, LPN/LVN license at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Licensed Practical Nurse for one (1) year prior to start
- Acute Care hospital or Inpatient Rehab Facility or Center experience
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation while providing direct patient care
- Ability to safely assist with patient transfers, perform repetitive clinical tasks, and respond quickly in emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments related to prevention, and detection of illnesses in adults
