Job Summary
Special Educational Director leads IDEA compliance and special education services; collaborates with management to ensure safety, stability and wellbeing of residents placed through the Department of Children, Youth and Families; responsible for evaluating and revising IEPs, facilitating Evaluation Team Meetings, and participating in IEP meetings to improve student achievement. Requires a Master's degree and Rhode Island certification as a special education administrator; part-time year-round administrative role with travel to community locations; Spanish-speaking and multilingual skills are compensated; includes de-escalation training and flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Certification in the State of Rhode Island as a special education administrator
- Experience with children with behavioral/psychiatric challenges
- Spanish Speaking preferred and is compensated
- Bilingual/ASL skills compensated
- Flexible schedule
- Excellent multitasking and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
